KOOROOMBA HOMESTEAD

A brief history of Kooroomba HomesteadDSC_7735

Kooroomba homestead built in 1921 for Francis Marsh Bell and Frederica Bell was a part of the historic Coochin Coochin Station. Coohin Coochin is situated on the Boonah Rathdowney road 10 kilometres from Kooroomba Homestead.

Coochin was Francis Bells family cattle station purchased by his parents Gertrude and James Thomas Marsh Bell in 1883. His mother, Gertrude gave Francis 2,000 acres on which to build Kooroomba Homestead.

Coochin Coochin, Kooroomba Homestead and the Bell family have all played a significant role in Queensland’s rich pastoral history. Coochin Coochin although reduced in size is still owned by a descendant of the Bell family.
