BREEDING PROGRAM

Since its beginnings in 2008, Black Thor Angus has enhanced its original herd through 2 embryo transfer programs using prize winning Raff Angus genetics. Through this program Black Thor has progeny from a number of prize winning dams and sires including the highly acclaimed Raff Empire E269.

Also the natural breeding program has been boosted by our purchase of 2 desirable Raff Angus bulls (Raff Black Thunder E333 from prize winning dam Raff Burnett B126 who has won many awards including senior champion Angus cow and grand champion Angus female at The Royal Sydney Show 2010 and Raff Prompter D361 with Leachman and Hoff genetics) and a Cochrane bull Crossfire C20. The joining of these bulls with selected Black Thor females has added significantly to the quality of the Black Thor breeding herd.

This breeding program has resulted in females and sires which are smooth coated, sound, large framed, highly fertile, of fine temperament and bred to suit the humid, pestilent conditions east of The Great Divide, and are very suitable for all parts of Australia.
